Tillman Troops founded in 2007, is a non-profit corporation which is organized and operating as a tax exempt 501(c)(3) , qualified to accept tax deductible contributions as of 6/02/08. Tillman Troops is comprised of individuals and organizations volunteering and donating goods, services for charitable purposes to provide support, aid, comfort and assistance to members of our armed forces, operational employees and agents of other U.S. government departments and their families.
our founder
Loree Tillman is the wife of a US NAVY Captain and a native Houstonian. She graduated from San Diego State University with a BS in Applied Arts and Sciences and survived traveling the west coast in a 12 year sales career prior to having her son Tyler in 2003. She strives to be a dedicated wife, supportive mom and motivational community leader by spending hours supporting our military and programs with Tillman Troops.
Loree started her donation drives and organization in 2007 when her husband, a US Navy Reservist, was mobilized for service in Afghanistan. Realizing that there are other service members with far fewer resources and can’t give the ongoing support, her dining room became a “command central” supporting hundreds of other service members from the Houston area. Tillman Troops currently supports hundreds of service members . The organization is expanding their programs & services to include “Books for the Brave,” a project designed to procure and distribute best selling books for our troops that are convalescing at Veterans’ Administration and other hospital facilities in the Houston area.
